Kickstart for Sam was created in loving memory of our beautiful son who passed away at the age of 10 from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Though he was only here for a short time, the impact that Sam had on the people around him was extraordinary. 

	 

	After his passing, we wanted to create something that could carry on his name and spirit. This is how Kickstart for Sam came about. 

	 

	Otherwise known as the Samuel Brett Nelson Kickstart Foundation, the charity's mission is to provide children with opportunities that they may not be able to experience such as learning to swim, play a sport or learn a muscial instrument. We also run Confidence for Kids, a program that is designed to bolster the confidence of young locals in the Forster Tuncurry area through martial arts training. 

	 

	Since inception we have been so proud of the difference we have been able to make in our local community. Not only are we able to provide opportunities for young kids but we have also been able to spread awareness for the horrible illness that unfairly ended Sam's life. 

	 

	We are so grateful for any and every donation that we receive. The money goes directly to helping kids in need. We would not be here today without the support of so many wonderful people and organisations.
