Upendo Foundation Australia is a not-for-profit charity supporting vulnerable children in Tanzania with a safe home, nurturing care, education and opportunities to thrive.

Upendo Children’s Home provides a safe and loving family environment for children who do not have secure family support. Your donation helps provide nourishing food, education, health care, daily living needs, transport, utilities and support for the Tanzanian care team.

Every contribution helps create safety, stability and a stronger future for the children at Upendo.

Please note: donations through mycause are processed in Australian dollars. If you are donating from overseas, your bank or card provider will convert the amount into your local currency.

What your donation can help provide

Your donation can help cover practical costs for the children and the home, including:

1. $300 per month can help provide school transport
2. $200 per month can help support wages for one of our carers
3. $140 per month can help provide health insurance for all the children
4. $120 per month can help cover school fees for one child
5. $100 per month can help provide gas for cooking
6. $60 per month can help provide food for one child
7. $60 per month can help provide internet for Upendo Home
8. $50 per month can help provide soap for everyone
9. $40 per month can help pay the electricity bill
10. $25 per month can help pay the water bill
11. $20 per month can help provide personal sanitary products for the girls

One-off donations can also help with essential items, such as:

1. $150 for a new school uniform for a high school student
2. $75 for textbooks for a Year 12 student
3. $25 for new shoes for one child
4. $20 for stationery and exercise books for one child
