The Birthing Kit Foundation (Australia) is an organisation dedicated to improving maternal and newborn outcomes for women in developing countries. Our vision is for a world in which preventable maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity has been eliminated.
Each day, around 800 women will die from pregancy or childbirth related complications.
By fundraising for BKFA and holding an Assemby Day, you can help to address this problem by getting together with your local community group, friends or colleagues and packing kits knowing that they can help to save lives and address the global problem of maternal and new born mortality.
With around 300,000 women still dying annually in from pregnancy or childbirth related complications, many from infections acquired during childbirth, there is a great need for birthing kits. The kit contains a pair of gloves, a plastic birthing sheet, a piece of soap, string cord ties, gauze and a scalpel blade.
Please be aware of this important pricing information:
200 kits (minimum booking) will cost $1000 at $5/kit (soap is included in supplies)
We assist women in the most challenging of situations - those who for reasons of isolation, cultural choice or poor transport have little or no assistance during childbirth, often giving birth at home. In these conditions, many mothers and babies die from preventable infections.
By providing a clean Birthing Kit these mothers have the resources to reduce infection.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact email@example.com or visit our website at http://www.bkfa.org.au
Previously, extra funds raised on top of the fundraising target could be allocated to a future Assembly Day event. However, due to the high level of administration required, BKFA has made the decision to cease this process and instead, any additional donations above the target amount will be allocated to BKFA’s general donation account. Extra donations may support outreach and program management including community development projects, research, technology, product innovation and monitoring/evaluation.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
