YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY DONATING TO SIGHT-SAVING RESEARCH TODAY

Established in 1983, the Lions Eye Institute is a not-for-profit research centre of excellence. We combine world-class research into blindness and eye disease, with first-rate clinical care.

The Lions Eye Institute is one of Australia's largest ophthalmic practices, including a Day Surgery Unit and a Laser Vision Centre. The Lions Eye Institute also houses the Lions Eye Bank, Lions Optics, Lions Save-Sight Foundation WA, and the Lions Outback Vision

Community support makes possible, the translation of our research into the treatments of tomorrow.

Research Plan

From 2020 - 2023, the Lions Eye Institute will invest into five key research areas. This renewed research plan reflects our current purpose, vision, and values. The plan aims to drive treatment advancements and medical breakthroughs in the field of ophthalmology.

The five key research areas are:

  • glaucoma
  • diabetic and vascular retinopathies
  • Indigenous and community eye research
  • genetic eye disease, gene therapies, and macular degeneration
  • cornea, ocular surface, and ocular immunology.

Medical research is the core purpose of the Lions Eye Institute. We are continually working to build on our unique research-clinic institute model. Your donation today, can help us in the fight to save sight.

We are grateful for those who continue to support our cause and aspiration of – better vision for all.
