The Equanimity Project (Australia) is an innovative Australian first solution to reduce domestic and family violence and homelessness for women.

Developed by lived experience individuals we are a cost-effective way to provide a 2 in1 housing solution that also improves the welfare and safety of women in communities today.

What we provide is an immediate increase in safe and secure housing and a reduction in the risk of homelessness for women, their children and pets.

With over two years of research and consultation we incorprorate a high level of efficacy and valued delivery that can positively impact communities throughout Australia.

The Equanimity Project  is:

  • an Australian first initiative in increased community impact and safe spaces.
  • a highly cost-effective way to provide a two-in-one housing solution.
  • a responsive solution that includes diversity and cultural awareness.
  • an immediate resolution to a woman leaving with a pet.
  • providing innovative responses to pervasive and systemic inequalities in society.
  • offering welfare alternatives to social isolation and loneliness through continued purpose in society.

And for the Australian community

  • raise awareness and education
  • increase collective impact and response within communities
  • reduce the risk of homelessness for women
  • increase the capacity for crisis resistance
  • provide better housing pathways
  • reduce recidivism and recurrence of violence
  • increase reporting habits
  • development of a “pay it forward” movement where it “becomes everybody’s business”.
