Welcome to The South Australian Foundation of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. We are dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with diseases of the ear, nose and throat and in particular, Head & Neck Cancer.
Head and Neck Cancer, while representing just 5% of global cancer cases, profoundly affects a patient's quality of life. It often robs individuals of the basic functions of smelling, tasting, chewing, swallowing, speaking, and even breathing.
Our Foundation was founded by consultant surgeons at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2013. The fund commenced with the purchase of equipment necessary for Head and Neck cancer patients that was not provided by the hospital.
Today, every contribution to our cause is channeled towards several important initiatives:
Advancing Head & Neck Cancer research to improve patient outcomes in SA.
Providing training opportunities for medical staff, allied health and nursing staff.
Delivering educational material and teaching courses for Laser and Robotic Surgery, alongside ongoing research in Laryngeal transplantation.
Producing Patient Journey Guidebooks for all Head & Neck Cancer patients in SA - a go-to resource for patients to better understand their treatment journey, take notes and schedule appointments
We are aiming to spread awareness of our research to every corner of South Australia. Because it is only through research that we can KNOW cancer to achieve NO cancer.
Ready to make a meaningful impact? Join us in spreading awareness and advancing research for Head and Neck Cancer across South Australia. Your support matters – share our mission, donate to the cause, and let's create positive change together.
