Kids Giving Back

Kids Giving Back is Australia's leading not-for-profit organisation for student volunteering, offering hands-on, age-appropriate and meaningful volunteering experiences for children aged 5-18.

We provide these opportunities to children, teens, families, schools, community groups and corporations.

Our Triple Impact

Kids Giving Back delivers meaningful volunteering opportunities that create benefits across three key areas:

1. Young people develop empathy, resilience and leadership skills through hands-on service
2. Vulnerable individuals and charities receive direct support from engaged young volunteers
3. Communities are strengthened through social inclusion, civic engagement and a culture of generosity—nurturing the next generation of civic-minded leaders

Through our diverse programmes, Kids Giving Back supports over 100 charities addressing causes including homelessness and poverty, intergenerational understanding, refugee support, and assistance for disadvantaged children and communities.

Our Impact

Since launching in 2012, more than 70,000 children, teens and families have volunteered with amazing charities, bringing relief to thousands of families and individuals experiencing hardship.

Our participants have prepared more than 300,000 meals and care packages for individuals and communities in need, supported by hundreds of partner schools and charities that help us connect students with their community.

Our Philosophy

We believe that when young people volunteer, they develop respect, resilience and leadership skills whilst gaining the ability and opportunity to positively engage with their wider community.

Our philosophy embraces volunteering as a two-way street, giving children and families the opportunity to change lives—including their own. Our mission is to instil in young people and their families the joy of giving to others, not just material things but time through real-life experiences.
