Backpacks 4 VIC Kids is a registered not-for-profit organisation providing essential material aid to babies, children, and young people across Victoria who have been displaced due to family violence, neglect, homelessness, or other crises. We offer several tailored programs to support these vulnerable individuals:

My Essentials (ME) Packs

Our core program, ME Packs, offers age-appropriate backpacks or baby care bags filled with essential items such as clothing, toiletries, sleepwear, a torch, blanket, and a toy or activity. These packs aim to provide comfort and a sense of belonging to children entering out-of-home care or emergency accommodation.

School Essentials (SE) Packs

SE Packs are designed to strengthen engagement in education by providing basic school supplies, including stationery, lunchboxes, drink bottles, and combination padlocks. These packs help ensure children in out-of-home care feel equal and prepared in the classroom.

Christmas 4 Kids in Care (C4KiC) Santa Packs

Our C4KiC Santa Packs bring joy to children in out-of-home care during the festive season. Each handmade sack contains age-appropriate gifts such as books, soft toys, activity-based items, and stocking stuffers, offering a sense of celebration and normalcy.

Youth Outreach (YO) Packs

YO Packs support young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. These lightweight totes include a change of clothes, beanie, slides, toiletries, sanitary products, and a notepad and pen, aiming to restore dignity and support social inclusion.

We are not government funded and rely entirely on the generosity of the community.
