Family Planning NSW is the state's leading provider of reproductive and sexual health services. We provide clinical services, information and health promotion activities, education and training for health professionals and allied groups, research and advocacy.
As an independent, not for profit organisation, we recognise that every body in every family should have access to high quality clinical services and information. We respect the rights of our clients to make their own informed decisions about their reproductive and sexual health.
Our work overseas
Since 2010, we have:
Provided reliable contraceptive supplies to 14,910 women in Vanuatu and the Philippines
Trained 160 nurses and doctors who have delivered cervical cancer screenings to 9,946 women in Fiji, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu
Trained 271 peer educators who have provided training to 29,963 community members in Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea in reproductive and sexual health and reducing gender and sexual violence
Trained 40 teachers and 17 educators who have provided relationships and sexuality education to students with disability in Fiji
Donations from private donors and funding from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade enable us to assist poor and disadvantaged communities in the Asia Pacific region by delivering access to comprehensive reproductive and sexual health services.
We recognise that access to family planning is one of the most cost effective and important approaches to reducing maternal and child mortality and poverty.
