State Schools' Relief (SSR) supports the needs of Victorian students in government schools.
SSR had its beginnings during the Great Depression, almost 90 years ago. Concerned Principals and teachers were determined to help alleviate the disadvantage that was so prevalent in those early Depression years.
Sadly that disadvantage is still a fact of life for many children in our community. This past year, SSR assisted with clothing and footwear for more than 56,000 children across Victoria.
Education is the main pathway out of disadvantage. Our work at State Schools’ Relief helps in removing the barriers that exclude young people from schooling and the many opportunities it presents. It is our belief that education helps every child have a fair start in life.
Many thanks to our Patron: The Governor of Victoria, The Honourable Linda Dessau AC.
