On Thursday 2 July I am taking on my first HYROX challenge to raise funds for Beyond Blue.
I have struggled with my mental health throughout my adult life and staying active has been a huge part of how I manage it. This challenge is my way of pushing myself physically while supporting a cause that genuinely matters to me.
I am motivated to get fitter, challenge myself and raise funds for a charity that supports people through some of their hardest moments.

Hi my names Kira. A few years ago I was working in my corporate job and burnt out. I knew something was wrong with me when I was home from work and I couldn’t take in what I was watching on television properly. I couldn’t see or think properly. My head was in a loop and i attempted to take my life as I thought something permanently was wrong with me. I was soon diagnosed with psychosis and have since been receiving ECT treatment (electrotherapy to the brain) which with each treatment I get I get some short term memory loss. I’ve decided to open up about my experience and help raise money towards research into psychosis treatment, mental health, and suicide prevention. I aim to get to a half marathon this year and full marathon next year.
