STEPS Pathways Charity is working to create a brighter future for people with a disability. We promote equality and provide opportunities for independence and improved quality of life. We believe in strengthening the capacity of individuals to fulfil their dreams and become confident, valuable contributors to their community.
STEPS’ humble beginnings were sparked way back in 1989 when a group of parents, all of whom had a child with a disability, felt there wasn’t enough support in place to allow their children to achieve true independence. Like all parents, that small group of mothers and fathers wanted nothing more than to see their children grow into happy, fulfilled individuals ready and able to take life by the horns. So they did something about it! United in their passion STEPS was established, and almost 30 years on we’re still here working to empower individuals and create a positive impact in our communities.
STEPS Pathways Charity aims to make a big impact in the lives of those we work with and the communities we work in. While we primarily work to help people with a disability realise their potential, we have plans to grow and promote other forms of equality through our commitment to make a difference by providing opportunity. We’re always looking for new ways to do this and new partners in which to collectively drive good change.
