Imagine losing your ability to walk, work or even just brush your hair! OR just being pain-free each day, to be able to do the most basic things without help!

This has become the heartbreaking reality for Candice.

Going from someone who lights up every room she enters, who instantly makes friends with her warm, bubbly personality, infectious smile, and loud laugh and do anything for her family and friends, to someone who is losing the ability to undertake the most basic daily tasks at such a rapid rate, that it has even surprised her doctors!

Last year at just 36, Candice was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a debilitating disease that has started to rapidly rob her of her independence and mobility. The pain and the amount of energy - mentally, emotionally and physically - that it takes her to do just even the most basic things: chopping vegetables, ironing, sitting or standing for too long, getting out of bed, brushing her hair and so on, is taking its toll. Each day is an unpredictable struggle and even the simplest of tasks is daunting, let alone the isolation she feels because on some days, it is just too hard and painful to just barely function.

With the rapid progression since her diagnosis and following many hours of research and speaking with other MS sufferers who have been through the process, Candice has made the tough decision to travel alone to Russia in March this year to undergo HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation) - a treatment with a 90–92% success rate in halting MS in patients like her. This isn’t a quick fix by any means - it’s an intense process involving removing her stem cells, undergoing multiple rounds of chemo, and rebuilding her immune system from scratch over a 30-day period. But it’s her best chance to potentially halt the progression of MS in its tracks and reclaim her life before the disease causes anymore damage and before it is too late - to just give her the chance to live without the constant fear of deterioration!

Why Russia? Because while Australia has been “thinking about it” for 14 years, Russia has been successfully doing this procedure for over 20 years, treating more than 3,000 patients at their world-renowned university hospital. The irony? Australia sends doctors there to learn about the procedure but won’t send patients like Candice, to receive it.

This isn’t an easy decision. It’s grueling, emotionally overwhelming, and financially devastating. The treatment, travel, and recovery costs total a staggering $100,000.

Candice has so much life left to live and in her words, “I haven’t come this far to only come this far!” As her family and friends, we are determined to help give her as much of a long, healthy, pain-free and happy life as one can have living with MS and get her to Russia for this treatment!

With your support, we can give her that chance to live each day pain-free, mobile, independently, healthily and to be able to do the basic things that you and I get to do every day, without spending hours having to ‘work up the energy’ to do just one small thing!

The North of Israel has been evacuated since the beginning of the war. Tens of thousands of Israeli families have been displaced as a result of the October 7 massacre. Many have lost family members, their homes and everything they own. Since October 7th, 2023, Israel’s traumatised population has been crying out for mental health treatments. Initial relief activities focussed on the Gaza envelope and the Nova survivors. The Northern communities have been overlooked.
The evacuees and the First Responder teams defending their homes need help urgently.
United With Israel is aiming to bring this much-needed relief to them by providing them with Mental Help support in Therapy Centers. We appreciate your support.

The town of Sderot lies adjacent to the border fence with the Gaza Strip.
For the past eight years, it has been under constant rocket and bomb attacks, placing it at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The town is viewed by terrorist organizations as a “soft target” – a vulnerable point whose collapse could symbolize a broader national weakness. Their objective is clear: to turn Sderot into a ghost town.
To prevent this from happening, it is crucial that we offer real support to the people of Sderot—not merely through words, but through meaningful actions. To this end, we, a group of friends and alumni of the National Security College, Class of '85, have resolved to stop debating and start acting.
We chose to focus our efforts on the field of education. Conversations with local residents revealed a particular need in the area of non-formal education—such as music, cinema, and theatre—which typically lacks consistent government or municipal funding. This is where we believe we can make a meaningful difference.
Some of the initiatives we are supporting, at relatively modest costs, include:
•	Purchasing annual Cinematheque subscriptions for at-risk children
•	Funding day-care shelters for vulnerable boys and girls
•	Providing art therapy for families in emotional distress
•	Organizing and financing theatre workshops for high school students, in collaboration with the Cameri Theatre in Tel Aviv

Following the events of October 7th, most residents of Sderot were temporarily relocated to various parts of the country, including Netanya, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, and the Dead Sea area (Yam HaMelach). Immediate assistance was required—well before official government budgets became available. Our group responded swiftly, helping to fill this critical gap by providing washing machines, books, educational materials, and other essentials—particularly for the large number of displaced children.
Today, we have been asked to expand our support to additional educational institutions in the Gaza border region (Otef Aza), as well as to assist the many young people volunteering to help rebuild these communities.
Our focus is not on large-scale infrastructure projects, but rather on initiatives that enable and facilitate daily educational and communal activities.
Every shekel you donate goes directly toward these vital efforts.
All of our members are volunteers, and any incidental expenses are covered by us personally.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported JADE

At 11.30am on the 19th of April 2022 our lives changed forever. Our gentle Jade had a serious car accident between visiting clients at work after becoming an OT and completing Uni only 5 months before. 
Her spine, ankle and pelvis were fracture, but the huge damage has hitting her head resulting in a brain injury.

Over the past 18 months Jade has worked hard EVERY day and can now  Jade is move somewhat on her own, but has not yet regained control of her limbs.  

When she came out of her coma after 4 months and started to talk we were so excited. She can now talk and hold great conversations.
Jade is now home after a difficult journey through the hospital system.  
This has been incredibly hard, for not only Jade but also for everyone that loves her.

Jades rehabilitation journey will be long and take many years in fact and although we all need her home it’s likely she will need care and rehab beyond our capabilities. 

She has sustained a significant traumatic brain injury. We now know that Jade is now likely to be very different to the Jadey we knew prior to her accident. We give her your love and messages every day. With your strength behind her we know she will continue to improve…though what the future looks like is still unclear.
