Lung Cancer Network Australia (formerly Kylie Johnston Lung Cancer Network) was inspired by Kylie Johnston – a young, fit 27 year old woman, who was diagnosed with advanced non small cell lung cancer in May 2003.
Throughout the 4 ½ years Kylie lived with lung cancer, she and husband Nick, devoted time, energy and passion to raising awareness around lung cancer in the general community. Kylie worked with the Lung Foundation to identify gaps in providing lung cancer patients, carers and families with reliable information, support and hope.
Lung Cancer Network Australia (LCNA) aims to empower lung cancer patients, their families and carers with reliable information, support and advocacy, no matter who they are and where they live.
Lung Cancer Network Australia is a national organization that relies on the Australian community to help provide funding for the support, information and advocacy its provides to Australians touched by lung cancer.
Lung Cancer Network Australia relies on funding from projects, events, bequests, donations from individuals, business and industry as we receive no on-going government funding for our core activities.
Funds raised for Lung Cancer Network Australia go directly to lung cancer patient/carer support initiatives and resources. Lung Cancer Network Australia also delivers awareness events and public relations activities aimed at raising the profile of lung cancer in our community and helping to improve the quality of life of those touched by lung cancer.
