BEIT RAFAEL cares for the physical and emotional needs of families, whilst their loved ones are undergoing hospital treatment,by providing them with ‘a home away from home’ – a quiet place where they can stay and recover their emotions in a private setting. BEIT RAFAEL’s fully self-contained apartments, including foodstuffs, are available to members of the community at no charge.
BEIT RAFAEL Benevolent Institution, was established by Adina and Shimon Allen in 2012. It is registered with the Australia Taxation Office as a ‘Public Benefit Institution’ with fully tax deductible (DGR) status.
BEIT RAFAEL is named in honour of Adina’s father, Rafael Birnbaum A”H. Significantly the name RAFAEL is the name of one of G-D’s four ministering angels, who is specifically charged with the healing of the unwell.
To date, BEIT RAFAEL has assisted hundreds of families. Sometimes a family may only require the apartment for the day, in other circumstances the apartments are used for weeks or even months at a time.
