Our Vision - An Australian community free from diabetes and its impacts.
Our Mission - Diabetes Australia - Queensland is a member-based association and part of the national organisation, Diabetes Australia.
Through its team of staff, volunteers and members Diabetes Australia - Queensland will realise its vision by:
* providing practical support and education for people with diabetes and all those associated with them
* promoting increased public awareness of diabetes; and
* actively seeking funding for diabetes research
With over 46,000 members and formed in 1968, Diabetes Australia – Queensland (DAQ) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes.
Our members include both people with diabetes and their families, and health professionals working in diabetes-related fields.
We support members by providing:
* up-to-date information on diabetes management techniques
* seminars and workshops
* support and counseling
* special prices on diabetes products
* advocacy
Diabetes Australia - Queensland is part of Diabetes Australia which operates in all States and Territories of Australia.

The incidence of diabetes in our community will double in the next ten years!

Diabetes Australia - Queensland works to raise public awareness of diabetes and alert people to the health risks of undiagnosed diabetes through:

Funds for Diabetes Research
Through the Diabetes Australia Research Trust Diabetes Australia - Queensland contributes to diabetes research in Australia. Through extensive research we have found out more about what causes diabetes, and progressed management techniques more in the last 10 years than in the previous 50… we hope a cure is just round the corner!
