Friedreich Ataxia Research Association (Australasia) (FARA(A)) is a not-for-profit organisation whose sole purpose is to fund research to find a cure for Friedreich Ataxia (FA), a condition for which, currently, there’s no treatment and no cure.
FARA (Australasia) continues its efforts in 2012 with optimism and energy, having come through a very challenging 2011 with more people supporting our cause than ever before, and the firm belief that our mission of accelerating treatments and a cure for FA is achievable.
FARA (Aust) is a significant partner in a global force of like-minded groups, co-funding grants with support from the U.S. and Europe/UK, ensuring the best research is funded without duplication, and increasing collaborations between scientists from around the world through regular conferences and through smaller, global focus groups working with stem cells and mice models
