Hope Child Africa supports orphans and underprivileged children located in Mombasa, Kenya. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, loving and supporting home for children who are orphans. Care for the children is provided throughout their childhood to adolescent years. This is achieved through public awareness and subsequent fundraising, volunteering, donations and sponsorships for which the outcome is aimed to meet the needs of the children, including:
-
a clean and safe home environment;
-
education & life skills;
-
a balanced nutritional diet;
-
medical, physical & emotional care; and
-
a positive environment where the children are encouraged with physical activity, learning, and creative projects.
Beyond the sustainability of the orphanages we support, our aim is to raise enough funds to purchase 2-3 acres of land and build a large home and associated buildings which can be extended to meet the further needs of the poverty stricken communities in the slums surrounding, Mombasa. We hope to provide a home to over 100 children in need.
Hope Child Africa was founded by Belinda Buchanan. Belinda is passionate about making positive change in the lives of children living in poverty. After volunteering in Kenya many times, Belinda made the decision to commit to making a difference.
Hope Child Africa helps and supports two orphanages located in Mombasa, Kenya. The orphanages are in close proximity to schools, hospitals and recreation facilities. The children are cared for by full time House Mothers, they receive medical attention and providing they are of age, they all attend school. Volunteers also attend the orphanages from time to time to assist where needed. We encourage the assistance of volunteers to share and teach the children new skills and enjoy the precious experience of giving.
