Operation Sunshine WA exists to support women, children, young people, and families displaced by violence and abuse or crisis.

Every day women and children across Western Australia are displaced due to violence and abuse.

Children and young people entering out-of-home care are often taken without warning, leaving everything and everyone they know, with nothing but the clothes on their back. This is also the experience of women and children escaping domestic violence. In many cases arriving at crisis accommodation with just the clothes they are wearing, often covered in blood and torn, their clothes tell the story of the violence they have just escaped.

They don’t have clean underwear or a change of clothes, or their favourite teddy to comfort them at night, they don't even have the basic toiletry items to take care of personal hygiene. It is a highly traumatic experience and leaves them feeling alone, scared, and extremely vulnerable.

We are a volunteer run charity providing emergency packs filled with clothing, toiletries, and comfort items to help relieve some of the uncertainty faced at such a traumatic time, giving the recipient a sense of self worth, comfort, and preserving their dignity.

We hope to make a positive impact in the lives of the people we support.
