Last September, we lost our beautiful boy Levi to MPS II (Hunter Syndrome). He was just four years old. Our world has been forever changed, and navigating life without him has been the hardest journey we’ve ever faced.

This year, Levi would have turned five.

Levi was the funniest, cheekiest, and kindest little boy. He had a heart full of love, gave the best hugs, and his laugh could light up an entire room. He brought so much joy to everyone who knew him, and we miss him more than words can ever express.

In honour of what would have been Levi’s 5th birthday, we will be taking part in a 5km Run for Rare. Through this, we hope to raise awareness of rare diseases like MPS II, and fundraise for a charity that is incredibly close to our hearts.

During the most difficult time of our lives, we were supported by an extraordinary medical team who gave us a gift we didn’t even realise we needed—beautiful photographs of Levi’s final moments with us. These images are something we now treasure more than we can ever explain. In the midst of grief and overwhelming emotion, it’s something we would never have thought to ask for, yet it has become one of our most precious memories.

These precious photos were made possible by Heartfelt—an organisation of professional photographers dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families who have experienced stillbirth or have children with serious or life-threatening illnesses. Heartfelt provides this service with deep care and compassion, and all sessions are offered completely free of charge.

By supporting our run, you are helping raise awareness, support families like ours, and ensure that others can receive the same compassion, care, and lasting memories during their darkest moments.
