Peninsula residents dig deep for families who lost their sons in tragic accident

Residents of Bilpin have raised over $20,000 for the families of three young men killed in a terrible road crash on the 30th of August.

The close-knit community has been shaken by the horrific crash, which killed Luke Shanahan, 21, Ben Sawyer, 19 and Lachlan Burleigh, 17.

Blake Shackelford, mycause campaign creator for the Shanahan and Sawyer fund, says that the boys were “three of the kindest, caring souls".

“We’re trying to raise money for the Shanahan and Sawyer family through these hard times. If there is anything you can donate to try and ease the pressure and cover some of the expenses, everything donated is greatly appreciated.”
