Help fund a shade sail for our local park

Umina Community Group is raising funds for a shade sail to be used over the play area at the soon to be upgraded Trafalgar Avenue Park in Woy Woy. We have a vision to transform what's currently an empty lot with disused swings (and little else) into a green and welcoming park for local families and visitors to the Peninsula to enjoy.

That's why we are cooperating with Gosford City Council to upgrade this very neglected park. And we're already kicking goals - GCC have committed to contributing a fantastic $25,000, with a further $25,000 community grant from the NSW State Government.

This budget is a great start to delivering play equipment, new trees and grass but we want to make sure the upgrade includes an essential item for a play area in Australia: A SHADE SAIL.

Sun protection isn't the only reason why a shade sail is important; lay areas with shade sails are used more frequently and for longer periods. That's why we're aiming to raise $25,000 to purchase and install a resilient shade sail. We are asking the community to rally together to raise $10,000, and meanwhile, we're working hard to raise an additional $15,000 from local businesses.

The Umina Beach branch of the Commonwealth Bank has already donated over $2000, to kick-start our fundraising - but we really need YOUR HELP to reach our goal.
