Lisa has recently been struck down by CJD, an horrific disease which is unfortunately incurable. Lisa is just 47 and has many friends around the world after living in Basel, Switzerland for a few years and obviously here in Australia. Lisa and her family now reside back in Sydney. She is being extremely well cared for and has her mother Ruth and sisters Susan and Mandy close by. Pete and the boys are coping as best they can. My wife Chrissy is going to run the Mothers Day classic on the Gold Coast in her honour however there will be numerous others taking part in this event and other Mothers Day runs in Australia and around the world on this day (May 10 - http://www.mothersdayclassic.com.au.)
Creutzfeldt-Jakobs Disease is a rapidly progressive brain disease that causes deterioration of the brain and dementia. We also aim to enhance awareness of this terrible disease. (http://www.cjdsupport.org.au).
