I have started this fund raising campaign to move the 2 hours south of where I currently live, to be closer to my sister Jodie.
In November 2007, Jodie's daughter Maddy, at the age of 11, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Maddy battled this horrid disease, with such bravery and courage, but sadly lost her fight May 2014.
One of Maddy's greatest wishes was for us to all live near each other, I was unable to grant her wish before she passed away. I need to do this for Maddy, to be near my sister, so I can see her on a daily basis, to help and support her through this terrible time. It certainly won't fix what has happened, but it will fulfill the promise I made to Maddy to always take care of her mum.
Due to my own health issues I have been unable to work for the last 12 months, and any money I had saved up has been used to support my family and travelling the 4 hours round trip to see Jodie. I have also just enrolled in college to be retrained in a job I can do with my health issues.
Thank you for listening. The past 7 years have been a nightmare for us all. Moving closer to Jodie may just ease the burden we are all feeling, just a little.
