Hi everyone, my name is Bruce.I am six years old and have been with my Mum and Dad sinse I was a Puppy. Recently I had a little accident. I was playing in the back yard with my Mum and Dad while they were working on a project when a piece of wood fell down, I tried to run away but did not get out in time and it hit me on my lower back. Then later that night I had an incident with my favourite recliner I like to sit under because I normally run out really quickly but couldn't this time. I went to the vet the next day because I was in pain and couldn’t jump anymore, they gave me pain relief and I went home. The next day I went back to the vet as I was still in a lot of pain so they did an Xray but I did not have any broken bones so I went home again with more pain relief but I got worse to the extent that in only 2 days I could not use my back legs anymore. The only option I had was for my Mum and Dad to drive 3 hours away to a specialist to find out what was wrong. I had a CT scan of my spinal cord and it found I had a herniation of my L5 & L6 disc and needed emergency surgery as this was causing a lot of pressure on my spinal cord and paralyzing me. I had to stay in hospital for 5 nights to get better. I now need a lot of care and attention and some pyhsio to help me walk again. I am so lucky my Mum and Dad took me to get better.The cost to get me fixed up will be around $13,000.My Mum and Dad love me and are doing their best to pay it.If anyone could please help them with a little bit to put towards my surgery and recovery costs that would be appreciated. I also have a little brother named Wayne and I can’t wait to go on batmen adventures again!
