This year my good friend Grace and I are doing the Rottnest Swim as a duo for the first time. We have decided to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a cause very close to my heart. I have lived with type 1 diabetes for 14 years now, and it is unrelenting. For 24 hours a day seven days a week, type 1 diabetics need to constantly monitor their blood sugar levels, and inject insulin which their bodies can't produce. However, management is becoming less complicated thanks to the incredible work of JDRF, the global leader in type 1 diabetes research. With research comes better ways to treat this disease and one day, hopefully a cure. Any support is greatly appreciated, and we thank you so much in advance!
JDRFs mission is to find a cure for type 1 juvenile diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF Australia represents 122,300 people with type 1 diabetes, thousands of passionate members and supporters, hundreds of dedicated volunteers and one single focus - a cure.
