Our son Ewan Murray died on the 30 December 2014 of a rare autoimmune condition called AHLE (Acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis). This disease is caused by the body's immune system attacking the Central Nervous System and causing the brain to swell. I have created this page to allow individuals to support the work of Professor Russell Dale at the INMR (Institute for Neuroscience & Muscle Research) at the Sydney Children's Hospital. He is one of Australia's leading experts in Neuroinflammation. This is a new field of medicine that looks at how and why the immune system attacks the Central Nervous System and how to stop this. Neuroinflammation has been associated with numerous conditions including AHLE, ADEM, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and various mental health conditions including depression.
