On our roadtrip in February 2020 we stayed with our friends Amanda and Paul. They would not accept anything in return for their generosity and we dislike buying things just for the sake of giving a material gift as 'the thing to do'.
So Amanda came up with the great idea of donating to people's fav charity any time you want to say Thank You to a friend or give them a gift. What a great idea!
Our fav organisation is Operation Flinders. It’s now easy to share this link with family and friends and anyone really who is thinking of buying us a card or gift for a special occasion like a birthday or Christmas etc or as a way to say thank you.
We are asking that the money you would have spent on us, goes instead to Operation Flinders - could be the cost of a $5 card plus postage - it all adds up over a year.
We have set our first fundraising target at $1,650 which is the cost to send one young person on the program. Participation in the program can transform the life of that young person.
Your kindness in wanting to do something nice for us with a material card or gift would make our hearts sing and give us such joy if you converted that money into a donation to Operation Flinders instead, which is very close to our hearts.
Just realised our start date is Valentine's Day - very appropriate that Shane and I make a donation on here to kick start our campaign - so rather than buy flowers or choccies or a card for each other we have donated to Operation Flinders instead.
