George was admitted to our local animal emergency hospital with abdominal pain last Friday.
After a few hours of admittance George came down with pneumonia. (not what I took him to the vets for, this occurred after a few hrs of admittance with sedation )
George currently has severe pneumonia.
After 4 days at our local emergency vet I made the risky decision to personally transport him to a bigger and more experienced animal hospital in Sydney. I didn't feel he was receiving the best care/best recovery environment or testing for his condition. I personally was going in to help oxygenate him, take him to the toilet and help as much as possible to make sure he was receiving regular treatment.
I do have pet insurance but unfortunately with past experience, any association with aspiration which is a side affect linked to his birth condition of "Persistent right aortic arch" isn't approved for funding.
Total bill paid for the first vet came to $5,700
George was admitted to Sydney last night and I was quoted minimum $6,000 to $20,000 for stay, tests, medication and depending on his progression, if he takes a turn with his pneumonia a machine to breathe for him.
I understand George plays a massive part in many people's lives daily and I am setting this up not asking for assistance but if you would like to support Gorgeous George in his recovery and would like to donate I would appreciate all your support and so would he.
