For the SIXTH year running UnitingCare Kingaroy is taking a stand against domestic & family violence by participating in the Darkness to Daylight Challenge this May 29-30.
Darkness to Daylight is a 110km relay run being held at Brisbane Southbank, each kilometre symbolised a life lost to domestic and family violence (DFV) that year.
We'll have just over 12 hours to walk or run more than 110km. We'll run through the night (with little or no sleep) until the end. The event raises vital funds for Australia’s CEO Challenge. ACEOC is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that works with businesses – of all sizes and from all sectors – to become more aware and responsive to DFV, ensuring greater support for staff directly impacted.
They also do incredible work building partnerships with frontline DFV services, including women’s refuges to provide more support to women and children fleeing violence.
ACEOC also provides financial support to services that work with men who are using controlling or abusive behaviours and giving them the emotional tools to change their actions.
