After seeing my mother in law in 2018 become a foster carer, my wife Florance, and I couldn’t help but notice the high volume of children in foster care. Having 3 young children of our own, it was impossible for us not to worry about these kids. As I don’t have a permanent solution to this crisis, I have decided to raise money for the Mackillop Family Service. This is an organisation who are passionate about working with communities so children can thrive. They’re services begin at supporting families so they can build on their strengths, and create an environment where children can develop to their potential.
In order to do this I will be participating in the Coburg 24hour Running Carnival. This involves me completing as many laps around a 400m track as I can in a 24hour period.
By doing this we hope we can help Mackillop Family Service with their work with kids within the community.
At MacKillop, we believe every child deserves the best. And the best place for children is in a safe and supportive family, where they are nurtured to develop to their full potential.
We work with children and families in Victoria, NSW and Western Australia who have experienced trauma.
