About

2017 will be the second Walk for a Veteran with PTSD along the Adelaide coastline. This year we walk 41km in honour of the 41 ADF personnel killed in Afghanistan.

We invite as many people as we can to join us to walk the 41km on Saturday 29 July to help raise money and awareness for ADF veteran PTS (post traumatic stress) programs. Funds will be donated 4 ways to the Henley and Grange, and Largs Bay RSL, RSL assistance dog program Operation K9, and The Road Home Wellbeing Program offering assistance to veterans and emergency services personnel.

We also want to raise awareness for those within our Emergency Services (SAMFS, SAPOL, SA Ambulance) who suffer from post traumatic stress.

Starting at 0600hrs at Seacliff our group will make our way along the coast to the Largs Bay RSL for lunch before returning back to the finish line at the Henley and Grange RSL at approx 1600hrs.

Carrying a back pack will be an optional extra, however there will be an expectation that those not carrying weight will donate extra out of their own pocket.

Joining us for the day will be former Rugby League star now international mental health speaker Joe Williams from The Enemy Within http://www.joewilliams.com.au/. Joe will walk with us, sharing his stories and provide some of us with some much needed inspiration. Joe will then present to the larger group at the RSL after the walk on suicide prevention and mental health wellbeing.
South Australian Liberal Leader and Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs Steven Marshall is the Patron of Walk for a Veteran with PTSD. Steven is extremely passionate about working with the defence community in SA to provide a better outcome for all. Steven will walk from Largs to Henley RSL with the group and address the RSL on the finish of the walk.
West Beach Community Bank, West End, The Press Gallery and Wines by Geoff Hardy have already committed to helping our veterans by sponsoring the event.

Either commit to walking or donate today to make a difference in our veterans and emergency services workers future. Also if you would like to offer corporate support or sponsorship of the event in some way please dont hesitate to let us know.
Lets get around the people who serve our nation and communities and say thank you, and help get them back on track.
