A much-loved school teacher and member of his community, Brian left behind his partner and two young children.
The Liston & Jones Children Support Trust was established by friends of Brian to help support his family. It is a fund administered by trustees for the maintenance, education, benefit or advancement in life of Brian's kids.
Brian loved music, and was a keen and accomplished guitarist. He also loved it when people came together to play music. We celebrated this part of his life on 28 May at the Marrickville Bowling Club. Here's a message from his partner, Maggie: "Thank you again to everyone involved - for your hard work, energy, love and generosity - it was so moving and uplifting to be at the centre of it all. The incredible $30,000 raised will hold us as we continue the process of picking ourselves up and rebuilding our lives without Brian. He would have been so proud and happy that so many people got together and so much music was made in his honour. Thank you xxx"
