"We have lost federal government funding and is need of support to continue running the neighbourhood centre and assist the community’s need."

In light of massive funding cuts in the community sector, we ask for your support to ensure the survival of the centre. Approximately 185 families come in every month for assistance with food, utility bills, hygiene packs, medicine, and emotional and psychological support.

We see an average of 30 people per day. These people include the homeless, people in domestic violence situations, people who have been assaulted, youth looking for work or who have been kicked out of home, people using alcohol and other drugs, and people experiencing violence and sexual abuse.

"The list of individuals that require our help is extensive. We aim to help everyone that come to the neighbourhood centre but unfortunately we cannot due to our limited funding."

How You Can Help

To sustain the centre’s operations, keep our important programs going and continue to provide assistance to people in need, we at Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre are reaching out to local business owners and families. We ask for your support by becoming a ‘friend’ of our well-loved community space.

For $150 pledge or more, your business will receive:

- A "Friends of Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre" sticker to show you support our neighbourhood centre

- A photo of you putting up our sticker will be posted on our Facebook page, which boasts over 400 followers;

- A Certificate of Appreciation,

- A logo of your business in our website as sponsor/contributor; and

- The opportunity to attend and give away promotional items at Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre’s events.

Individuals and families can also become a friend of the centre by donating $75 or more. We will also give a 'Friends of Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre' sticker and Certificate of Appreciation, and mention you in our website as sponsor/contributor.

With your support, we will reach our goal and this will help us sustain our neighbourhood centre’s operations, special activities, and most especially our emergency relief program.

If you think this is something you would like to support, please click on donate or contact us for more information. Our team at Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre thanks you greatly for your support, as does the Northern Illawarra community.

About Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre

We provide community services and support for people residing in the Northern Illawarra. We run a number of programs and services each week, and other special activities.
Emergency Relief - We provide food, assistance with bills, and other forms of support to people desperately in need, suffering from poverty and abuse, and are struggling to make ends meet.
Engage the Community - We create social groups, programs and activities as a venue for the socially isolated. We aim to involve the aged community and help fight against depression and isolation, which is common to senior citizens.
Our Youth Centre (Northern Illawarra Youth Project) - We provide young people in the community with productive and creative outlets, as well as education on important issues and mentoring from our youth workers. This helps us build the leaders of tomorrow.

We would love your help to keep all these important programs going. If you think this is something you would like to support, please donate to our cause or contact us for more information. Thank you.
