Dear Donors,

Well, we are now at the pointy end, and I hope it doesn't get any more pointy - if you get my drift.

I have tapered my training in the last week to avoid injury, and to consume sufficient alcohol to see me through 10 days of forced abstinence. I may have lost a bit of condition.

We head off to Port Moresby tomorrow (Saturday 23rd) at 7.00am and start walking that day. Eight days (and nights!) later the group will be in Kokoda. Hopefully I will be with them. We then have 3 nights on the north coast (Buna and Gona) fishing, relaxing and applying various unguents, then overnight in Port Moresby and home.

I can't wait to get started.
