In loving memory of our beautiful daughter, Adrienne Crocker
On the 18th of April 2022, at 37 weeks plus one day into pregnancy with our first child, our beautiful daughter Adrienne passed away peacefully while we were sleeping. “There’s no heartbeat”, they told us later that morning. This split second changed the entire trajectory of our lives and each moment since that day we have been trying to make her proud, and keep her memory alive.
It’s been almost a year since Adri was born and died and for her first birthday we have decided to fundraise in honour of her, in the hope that her life can help other families who experience the crippling, earth shattering loss of a child.
After Adri was born there were two things that we wanted more than anything - time and memories. This fundraiser is dedicated to both of those things.
Our goal is to raise $8000, we have chosen this amount because Adri’s number is 8. If we are successful in raising this amount we will be donating $6500 to purchasing a cuddle cot through Bears of Hope and the remaining $1500 to Heartfelt photography, this amount will fund 20 sessions with a photographer. If we receive any additional funds above our goal, we will be donating them to Heartfelt.
A Cuddle Cot looks just like a normal bassinet, but is fitted with a cooling system that helps to keep your babies core temperature low, which in turn allows families to spend precious moments with their child after they’re gone. Thanks to the use of a Cuddle Cot, we were able to spend two days in hospital with Adri and family and two friends got to meet her in person. This was a precious gift of time with her that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible. The days with her will always be the two most cherished days of our lives.

Heartfelt is a not for profit organisation that comes and takes photos of babies and their families after they have passed. When the photographers visited us in hospital they were so respectful and kind, they paid huge attention to detail by doing things like bringing a knitted blanket for Adri to lie on, so it didn’t look like she was laying on a hospital bed. They also brought a sheet to hold up as a backdrop, again so it didn’t look like we were in a hospital. They then sent us digital and hard copies of the photos with a USB so that we could share them with our loved ones. The photos we have of her are among the most precious things we own.

We will be fundraising for two months, starting in Adri’s birth month, the 1st of April 2023 until the 1st of June 2023. Each Monday, we will be posting a mixture of our story, facts about stillbirth and interviews with family and friends to help raise awareness to our cause and share Adri’s impact and story. The first post will go live on Monday 3rd of April 2023, and we encourage anyone who wants to, to share these posts and our fundraiser with people in their life. If you share any of the posts, please use the hashtag #adriennesmemory
