Two crazy kayakers taking on the challenge to continuously kayak from Tin Can Bay to Hervey Bay (approx. 75km) in a day.

Mike, a 72 year old pensioner, and Dan, his paddling partner for many years are going to complete this challenge to raise funds on behalf of an essential non-profit rapid-response airlift service (RACQ LifeFlight Rescue), which helps treat and save lives within Queensland every day. This service relies on community support/donations to continue their life-saving services to Queenslanders.
We’ll be paddling through the Great Sandy Strait, which is an extensive waterway (approx. 70 km in length) separating mainland Queensland from the World Heritage listed Fraser Island. This region forms part of the Great Sandy Marine Park and is noted for migratory bird roosting sites (listed under the RAMSAR Convention of international significance), a complex network of mangroves, salt marshes and sea beds that are home to a diverse range of marine creatures (migrating humpback whales, dugongs, dolphins and marine turtles).
