We have raised our goal to $75,000 and redone the maths.
The ride is now 740 kilometers - the extra distance to visit the remote village of Bangalbari to see CINI's program there.
Tonight we are all gathered in Kolkata, from Zambia, Canberra, Sydney and WA, discovering the peoples, noise, smells, colours and traffic of Kolkata. Our bikes have been put together and we are ready to go!

In February 2013 we will cycle from the busy city of Kolkata in West Bengal, India, through villages and countryside to Siliguri. The final day’s challenge will be along the stunning Teesta River and then up the mountain, a 4000 feet ascent to Kalimpong, in the foothills of Himalayas. The ride is 670 kilometers in total.
We are riding so that many more people will benefit from CINI’s programs in health, nutrition, education and protection throughout the region of the ride. In West Bengal there is still significant malnutrition, illiteracy, poor access to health care and education, child labour, and trafficking. CINI is working for lasting change and you can be part of making a difference by donating generously.
Each $30,000 we can raise will provide a development program for a community of 30,000 people - this means reaching over 1000 children who have dropped out of school, 400 pregant mothers and their babies and the young women who are to parent the next generation.
Participants will fully fund their own travel and trip expenses so that all money raised will go towards CINI’s programs in India.
