500 Reasons to support The Luke Batty Foundation

The event:

500 Reasons is a sporting event committed to raising money for the Luke Batty Foundation, which helps educate people about the horrifying statistics regarding Domestic Violence and to empower women and children so they may live and grow in a safe caring environment.

You can be a part of 500 Reasons inaugural event on the deck of Peppers Resort on Magnetic Island on June 18. The choice is yours to row 500m on a Concept II rower and compete as an individual or put a team together as a corporate challenge.

The cause:

Family violence is a crime. It is a violation of human rights. A woman and her children have the right to be safe and to be free from abuse. Family violence can happen to anyone, but in 95% of reported incidents it seems to be committed against women, children and other vulnerable people. It is endemic in the community and affects people of all walks of life regardless of age, culture, sexual identity, ability, ethnicity, religion or socioeconomic status.
