A space that promotes a sense of connectedness and wellbeing as well as a sense of purpose for those that may feel disconnected due to age or loneliness. As a whole of community asset, the garden will truly be a place for all to enjoy, with spaces to sit and relax or where you can be actively involved in growing food and produce to share. participate in workhops, events and communuty gatherings. Our location is central to the township and will be a unique space, with no similar facility in the Mulwala township.
From health benefits, to community inclusiveness and connection, this project will provide a public asset to be enjoyed across the age spectrum, from school children, to families and our older citizens, providing opportunity to join hands for a common cause. With all abilities access, physical ability will not be a barrier to use of the facility.
Our local school children will have an opportunity to learn new skills and the value of community through sharing what they produce. From a streetscape perspective, the garden will highlight one of the few remaining heritage sites in Mulwala and provide a focal point of the local main street.
