Warrina Women and Children’s Refuge Cooperative provides services to women and women with children experiencing domestic and family violence who are at risk of homelessness. We provide safe, supportive and confidential options for women and children, that includes supported crisis accommodation and access to transitional housing. On site at the refuge, we have specialist child and family staff to work closely with children affected by violence. Located close to the city centre we also have a Women’s Resource and Information centre. Here, women are able to access counselling, group work and referrals to other agencies to assist them to regain control of their lives.
Also located at the centre is the Women’s North Coast Domestic Violence service who support women through the judicial system in obtaining apprehended domestic violence orders. We provide confidential outreach services to women in the Bowraville/ Nambucca area and monthly outreach clinics to both Woolgoolga and Bellingen. In partnership with other local agencies we deliver group work to children and young people in the wider community.
