Beaufort & Skipton Health Service serves nearly 5000 people in Beaufort, Skipton and the surrounding area.  Our catchment area extends from Derrinallum and Lismore in the South, to Lexton and Ampitheatre in the North, and stretches to include Streatham, Linton, and Snake Valley. Beaufort & Skipton Health Service covers portions of the Pyrenees , Corangamite, and Golden Plains Shires.

The Beaufort & Skipton Health Service is recognised one of the leading health care providers of its size in the State.  In an environment of reducing budgets and a need to increase productivity we have managed to report an operating surplus in each of the previous eight financial years.  We have a proven track record of providing high-quality care which is evidenced through obtaining maximum accreditation status through the following:

  • Australian Council on Health Care Standards
  • Aged Care Accreditation (for four facilities including Skipton Hostel, Skipton Nursing Home, Beaufort Hostel, Beaufort Nursing Home)
  • Australian General Practice Agency Limited (AGPAL) – for both the Beaufort and Skipton Medical Practices

The Health Service has also continued to defy the trend of most Rural Health Services in that we are have shown significant growth in the services we deliver over recent years.
