Build Your Future Today Center (BFT) (www.center-bft.org) is a Cambodian NGO based in Siem Reap with an overall aim of helping local people to help themselves. BFT is highly committed to providing people, especially children, who live in extreme hardship and poverty, with tools to build a brighter future. Its health initiatives aim to provide basic medical services, education, improved access to services, clean water and to teach nutrition to alleviate malnutrition which is all too common in many rural areas.
A major obstacle for BFT is transport. Roads are in very poor condition and are often impassable during the long monsoon season on motor scooters that provide most of the transport in Cambodia. The Friends of BFT aim to raise money to buy a 4WD that will make access possible to deliver food and medical supplies and to transport desperately poor rural citizens who are currently unable to get to hospital or first aid centres.
