How to raise money for a friend?
Raising money for a friend is an amazing way to help them in their time of need. Sometimes though, it can be difficult to go about fundraising. We’ve made it easy for you to start a campaign and encourage people to donate.

1. Start an online crowdfunding campaign
The mycause website makes crowdfunding easy. Click “Start Fundraising”, choose "Personal cause", and fill in the information. The “Donate Now” button lets people donate easily, and you can also keep track of how your campaign is going.
2. Think about a clear goal for your campaign
Talk with your friend about what they need to get out of the campaign. Set a monetary value that needs to be achieved and decide by when it should be achieved.
3. Choose a name for your campaign that will appeal to people
Think of a name that people will remember, maybe use your friend’s name in the title of the campaign so they know who it’s for. e.g “Help David Treasure Every Moment”.
4. Think about their story and/or journey
Think about why your friend needs the money. What have they been through? Make sure you tell donors the story so they can understand why their donation is important.
5. Choose a great image that encourages donations
A picture tells a thousand words. Find a good picture of your friend so people can see who they are. Make sure the picture is good quality before you upload it onto the campaign page.
6. Share your campaign to let people know about it
Send the link to your campaign to many people in order to get them to donate. People can’t help your campaign if they don’t know it exists. Linking your campaign on social media is one way to share it.
