Hey, We (Paul and Johnny) are climbing to Mount Everest basecamp on Aug 18 this year, and we thought what a great opportunity to raise money for charity. We have chosen Cancer Council and Cystic Fibrosis who will both be splitting 100% of all donations. Most people have been affected with Cancer in their lives, whether it be family, friends or themselves, so we thought it was important to include such a charity. Cystic Fibrosis is a lung disease brought to our attention a few years ago, when a friend of ours passed away. When he died at age 23 , he had a lung capacity of 20%. At Mount Everest basecamp, we will be at 50% lung capacity, so we will be able to have a glimpse of what our friend and other sufferers go through. Our trek will take 14 days, climbing up to 17,500ft. You can check out our facebook page at

Funds donated to the My cause Gift Fund will be distributed to Cancer Council Qld and Cystic Fibrosis Qld. CCQ is a community-based organisation dedicated to serving the community in cancer control. CFQ strives to offer hope whilst delivering appropriate therapy, care and support for clients and their families in all aspects of life that this disease impacts. The trustees will always disburse funds to the nominated cause, however in the case that that is not possible, the funds will be disbursed to a DGR charity at the trustees discretion.
