On Friday 1st of September 2017, staff from Harcourts – The Property People, along with members from Harcourts offices throughout Australia, their family, friends and the greater community, will walk down a different path and once again join forces with White Ribbon Australia to take a stand against domestic violence. In 2016, over 800 Harcourts staff, family, friends and supporters across Australia “walked a mile” in women’s heels to show solidarity and bring attention to the national tragedy that is violence against women. Our event set a new White Ribbon record for community fundraising, and this year we hope to set a new milestone for this worthy charity. This year’s “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” will see all participants encouraged to wear heels (men and womens) to walk along a designated public route in Campbelltown. Last year, Harcourts The Property People in conjunction with our clients, tradespeople and local community, raised the largest national donation at a whopping $14,500! This year we are raising the bar, with a goal of $20,000. All Harcourts offices nationwide hope to raise $100,000 to help White Ribbon Australia continue their awesome work. 100% of funds raised will be donated to White Ribbon’s “Breaking the Silence” programme in primary and secondary schools across Australia, aimed at creating generational change in attitudes toward violence. It’s $25 to enter the walk, or feel free to donate what you can.
