Boxing for Breast Cancer Care

Myself along with 20-odd other individuals will be stepping into the square ring for 3 x 2min rounds at the white-collar boxing event known as the Perth Corporate Rumble (PCR) on Saturday April 1st. My brother Simon and I will be going toe-to-toe in an effort to raise money for Breast Cancer Care WA. We will also be joined by Andrew Embley, Mark Borrello, Jayde Taylor, Jasmine Hyde, James Graham and Luke Parker just to name a few of the group of 22 who will glove up on the night to support this great cause.

We’ve been training like animals for the last 8 weeks and we are now counting down the days to fight night. The training has been tough to say the least, not to mention bearing the unsavory thought of getting beaten up by the younger bro in front of a crowd of 1,000.

The journey has taken us a long way from our comfort zones but what myself and the rest of the PCR group have been through in these last few weeks is by no means any comparison to what women and their families go through with breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care WA provides personalized emotional, practical and financial support free of charge to people affected by breast cancer without government funding. With one in eight women now being diagnosed with breast cancer, the need for services is growing on a daily basis.

Breast Cancer Care WA rely on the support and generosity of the community to continue providing their vital services free of charge. Each year Breast Cancer Care WA supports on average 1,000 women and their families with tailored services to meet the needs of each individual.
