Please support our team (Ceinwen, Wayne, Paul N, Paul D, Andrew, Geoff and Lisa) in our individual
attempt to swim the English Channel between July and September this year for Breast Cancer Care WA.
The 34-40km swim is considered the Everest of open water swimming and each of us will be making
solo attempts to cross the channel, knowing that 90 percent of those who start, do not finish.
The English Channel is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean that separates Great Britain from northern
France.
People who attempt to swim the channel have to contend with 15 degree water, strong winds and rough
sea conditions as well as exhaustion and stress of sea traffic in one of the world's busiest
shipping corridors.
A huge challenge for all of us, but something we are looking forward to doing for ourselves and
Breast Cancer Care WA.
Congratulations!
