7 out of 10 of the world's poorest people are women.

Without access to education or work, women and their children experience extreme hunger, and cannot afford basic medical care. Your help is urgently needed.

With your donation, we can break the cycle of poverty.

With education, training and sustainable employment opportunities, women can break the cycle of poverty for good -- for themselves, their families and their communities.

Just like Reapi did.

Reapi was a poor, illiterate grandmother who had never left Fiji. After UN Women sponsored Reapi and 27 other women from across the Pacific Islands to study in India to become an engineer, she now earns a steady income. Reapi learned to install solar panels and lamps, bringing electricity to her village, for the first time.

Reapi went off to India and has come back an engineer and a leader. As soon as I left school, I became her apprentice and have learnt a valuable skill for myself - that also helps my village. When I'm older, I will also be a leader. – Sofaia, aged 18, Kadavu Island, Fiji

Donate today to help women like Reapi gain training and employment to support their families.

Reapi and Sofaia's story is just one example of the ways UN Women is working to end poverty and empower women and girls.  Your gift will help provide education, skills training and small business support to help lift women and girls out of poverty -- for good.

By making a donation to support UN Women's work today, you can help change the lives of women and girls all over the world.
