In Australia, almost every hour someone is diagnosed with an eye condition that cannot be corrected by glasses. Every year that’s 8,000 more people who can no longer make full use of their sight.
Vision is a living partnership between people who are blind, sighted or have low vision. We are united by our passion that in the future people who are blind or have low vision will have access to and fully participate in every part of life they choose.
Whether it’s helping to tell the time, pouring a cup of tea, using a computer or reading a talking book, Vision Australia ensures thousands of people who are blind or have low vision can live their lives to the full. We do this by developing practical solutions to everyday challenges, providing comprehensive training and enabling easy access to information.
We receive around 40% Government funding each year to deliver our vital services mostly free-of-charge. We rely on the generosity of people in the community like you to continue to make a difference. This Christmas, help us by raising money to provide these essential services, or donate to Vision today:
$30: Will help provide a person who is blind or has low vision with a white cane and training
$50: Will help to provide counselling services for a person coping with the onset of blindness or low vision
$100: Will help provide a tactile book for a child to learn Braille
$200: Will help provide services to teach a child independence in early living skills, such as, cleaning teeth and tying shoes.
$500: Will help provide training in technology to teach a client to use a computer through touch typing and speech output software.
Thank you for your generosity and support, and Merry Christmas!
